Is it worthwhile to buy a resale 20 year old condominium (Northoaks) or a 6 year old condo (Skies Miltonia). I notice that Skies Miltonia is going up in terms of PSF and is so much younger compared to Northoaks. I am looking for a condo which allow me to exit in 5 years.

It is not easy to compare an older project versus a newer project when the location itself is also relatively different. Aaron has asked a valid question. If you are aware of the age for Northoaks at 20 years old and you have intention to exit in 5 years, there should be a reason why this project has been shortlisted as a comparison. There are various projects in the vicinity of Northoaks too for shortlisting but why not others like Woodsvale which is the neighbouring project?

Hi,

Newer condos tend to be more favoured by buyers as the upkeep and facade design is better, and facilities more up to date, even though the price is relatively higher. However the 2 condos mentioned have quite different localities, so I think personal factors will come into play and help you decide which is better. Is the price point the main determinant? Just curious why these 2 condos are shortlisted as north side do have some options.

In my opinion, between the 2 projects I would prefer Skies Miltonia because of the empty residential land plots round Skies Miltonia. If these plots were to be sold to private developer and sold as condos, the new condos will provide a boost to the price around the area and this will enable you to have a good exit point.
